Children's art on a NYC Trip

Last weekend my friend Cheryl Kirk Noll and I took the bus to NYC. We met up with some Highlights for Children Magazine friends for a lovely brunch at the Society of Illustrators. The Society was displaying the best art of Children's books for 2013. Great show, excellent company.  Cheryl has done such a stellar job of recording our trip I'm going to link you here and here to see the rest of our pictures and adventures in the city.

I do need to include this picture of us in "The Phantom toll Booths" car on display at an exhibit called "The ABC of It: Why Children's Books Matter," at the NYC public Library. We took pictures of each other and clever Cherly photoshopped us together!

Another favorite of mine was a display at the library of the original Winnie the Pooh, Eeyore, Piglet, Kanga, and Rooey.

We stayed with my friend Ellen who took us on a tour of the Highline. A park that is built on an old train line that ran a couple stories up above the city. There is a grassed in park and slide-able lounges along the mile plus walk.

(Ellen and Cheryl sitting below).  Now go back to link and see her blog, it's great!!
