OMG what a fabulous time husband and I had at the Roaring Twenties Lawn Party. This amazing festival has been put on for a third year by the Boston Swing central dance studio and hosted by the Crane Estate in Ipswich MA.
There were many people in period costumes "cutting a rug" to the Baby Soda Jazz Band with instruction from the ever helpful Boston Swing Central. All in the shade of the beautiful Crane Estate.
A burst of colorful beaded, sequined, fringed dresses could be seen worn by the the ladies. And the gents looked very dapper in their lawn whites. Many taking the stroll up the rolling hills of the grounds to get a view of the ocean from the cliffs.
As always I am inspired by the art design and color around me. Here are some pictures to inspire you. This is the sleeve I cut off from my dress. Great pattern and colors I would not ordinarily put together. Golds and aqua, I love them.
Look at the wonderful patterns in the brick work and walkways around the croquet court. This whole area was mostly rubble last year. So much has been done to improve this historic site.
And how about the lines in a parasol? Again I am loving these gold colors against a blue sky. I was also adoring the shade these ingenious devices created. Why don't we all carry parasols on days that are 100 degrees in the sun?
