Children's Art Auction for everyone

Rob Dunlavey, Judith Moffatt, Tak Toyoshima, Branden Lamb, Clive Brown

The Bacon Free Library Board of Trustees have put together an amazing fund raiser; the Children’s Illustrator’s Auction! More than eighty (80) of today’s most beloved children’s book illustrator’s have donated over 100 pieces of art for this special event. Donations have come from all over the US, Canada – even one from England and one from France! Picture book illustrators, graphic novelists, chapter book illustrators – a recognition of the diversity in the art form.

Sunday was the opening reception where most of the art could be viewed. All the art is pictured very nicely on this site where you can place bids on the pieces you love until mid November 15. Take a look: Art Auction

Here is a selfie of Meena Jain, the librarian who gathered all this work, myself and Rob Dunlavey, a multitalented artist  I have know for over 20 years! Check out his new children's books. Both Rob and I have pieces you can bid on.

Dawn Rice-Norton made the most adorable Cupcakes with tiny tooth pick easels displaying a copy of each artists piece of art in fondant! How very clever! A tiny copy of my "Robot Roundup" piece is shown on the plate.

And Marguerite Monahan created this beautiful cake for the opening reception representing the antique Bacon Free Library. The actual library itself is a work of art. Located on route 16 near the falls in South Natick. Stop in if you are passing through.

The art show was set up with help from another art contributor; Ginger McEachern.  Ginger is one of the "Crows" from "Five Crows" artisans gift shop in Natick center. Beautiful unique craft can be found there along with all three of my coloring books and some of my Mandalas.
