Turkey Trot

A great way to start  Thanksgiving day. I joined about 30 of my Weight Watcher peeps at 7AM to walk/run the 5K Turkey Trot!

When I stumbled out of bed at 5AM in the dark after our first substantial snow storm the night before, I had my doubts as to whether this had been a good idea. But when I went on line and discovered several other runners were up getting ready to go, I was inspired.

Many off the members ran/jogged the route but they all waited for the speed-walking members to cross the finish line. Whoops and cheers greeted us as we took our final steps!

Best of all, two of the women had a surprise for us... they awarded us with big heavy shiny medals they had made up special for this day! I felt like I'd really done something noteworthy, completing the route and continuing on this weight loss journey on this 30 something degree morning!

I'm in the back row second from the right waving my red gloved hand.

Below is my awards collection:
My bracelet with all my WW charms, my race number and my metal. I adore collecting WW "bling" for my achievements!

My weight watchers group is the best. We call ourselves the Milford Maniacs, AKA Rob Troller's Big Bunch Of Losers (Rob is our fearless leader). We ROCK, Join us!

  1. Congratulations :) I did a 5K muddy obstacle course/run in aid of Cancer Charities in the summer... I had to walk most of it, but I did finish!
